BUYING Advice
Don't Be Afraid Of Commitment
Much like marriage, buying a home is one of the biggest decisions, with the longest lasting effects, you'll make in your lifetime. The emotional and financial impacts will be with you for years to come. That's why it's important to understand the process from the very beginning–so the decisions you make every step of the way will be ones you can live with.
The first two steps are the easiest. Where you want to live could be based on anything from school districts to scenic beauty, commuting distance, tax advantages or just having a good feeling about the area. Then there's the home itself: how many bedrooms do you need, does it have to have a garage, a finished basement, a family room or a fireplace?
Beyond that, there's financing and construction, both of which are covered here.
